Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
For the longest time, I always wanted to have a picnic-styled birthday celebration. That is exactly what I did for my 26th birthday, I love having a summer birthday because summer is the season where I become most alive. My birthday also marks an end of the summer season, so it is truly bittersweet.
I met up with my friends at one of my favorite places in the city - the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. We brought dinner from our favorite restaurants, drank White Claws, and had the most amazing German chocolate cake from Billie's Grocery. I also got to celebrate with my college best friend, Annuja, who's birthday is four days after mine.
We then got some snaps at golden hour and our newly updated family group photograph. Lifelong friends who are also now family is something cultivated with intentionality. It's so special to find a group of friends who celebrate each other's wins, ambitions, speak life and truth over each other, talents, and vulnerability.
My close group of friends are exactly that for me. They are family and leave me a better version of myself. This weekend I felt extra loved and all the giddy feels ～ very grateful for everyone and everything in my life. Here’s to copious opportunities, dreams, love, and joy ⋒
